WHO WE ARE

Chin community in Denmark is a non-for-profit organization, established in 2003 by the Chin refugees from Myanmar. The organization is dedicated to uplifting the Chin people through committed efforts. We aim to foster a sense of belonging and promote opportunities for successful adaptation, while actively preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Chin people, ultimately enriching both the Chin members and the broader Danish community

 

Our mission is to empower individuals and strengthen the collective spirit of the community by promoting unity and solidarity among all members, while actively supporting their integration into Danish society.

About CCDK

Structure and functions.

CCDK’s organizational structure consists of the General Meeting, Central Committee, Executive Committee, six regional committees, and four specialized working committees. The General Meeting is the highest authority within the organization, serving as the platform for making key decisions and appointing leaders.

CCDK’s leadership is held by a team of office bearers, comprising the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer. These office bearers are responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s operations. They are elected by delegates from the regional committees at the General Election for two-year terms

The regional communities are located across six different areas, and they are as follows:

    • Bornholm region
    • Fyn region
    • Midtjylland region
    • Nordjylland region
    • Sjælland region
    • Sydjylland region
  • The 5 working committees are;
    • Fundraising committee
    • Human resources and education committee
    • Literature and cultural committee
    • Sport and Youth Services committee

Objectives

The organization’s objectives include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Offer assistance to help members successfully navigate and integrate into Danish society.
  2. Offering a variety of activities aimed at preserving, promoting, and celebrating Chin culture.
  3. To strengthen unity and solidarity among all members,
  4. To empower members through educational initiatives that enhance their skills and qualifications, helping to create better opportunities and a brighter future.
  5. Cooperate with other organizations to meet the needs of the Chin people, both locally and globally.
